Durham City Flag
The official flag of Durham since 1989, the design was created by Al Nichols as part of a contest held by the City of Durham. What makes it so remarkable is the meaning behind each of its four colors and seven stars. To represent the “New Spirit” of Durham, royal blue was chosen to signify courage, red for action and progress, gold for high quality in all growth, and white to indicate high ideals. Furthermore, the seven stars stand for the arts, commerce and industry, education, medicine, human relations, sports and recreation, and Durham's rich heritage. These seven stars come from Durham’s birthday, April 26th, that aligns with the Taurus zodiac sign.
The Bull City’s flag is a personal favorite of mine for its simplicity and bold meaning, making it perfect to fly anywhere you may take it. Made from high quality canvas, all of our flags are suitable for indoors while tough enough to withstand the weather outside, lasting you a lifetime!
